How is it possible for someone like you to sleep?

If you lock the doors,

I shall tear out your windows.

And if you decline,

I shall vaccinate your longing with madness.

And if thirst overcomes you,

I shall baptize you in the spring of Midian.

And if you look back,

I shall ransom you with salt from Sodom.

And if you tremble,

I shall enshroud you in my wings.

And if anger descends upon you,

I shall cast within your heart the secrets of tranquillity.

I will change colours within your eyes.

I will make it possible for you to see

that which they see not.”
