A Space Empty of You

Where I can’t find you —

where obsessions tumble

inside desecrated jeans,

where salt swirls

inside stifled brains,

where a tranquil breeze hides

inside neurotic drums.

Where I can’t find you,

a crossed-out name

afloat in a footnote,

an uncredited character

in a discarded script,

an intoxicated fear

simulating tango

and speaking in tongues.

Where I can’t find you,

where even air

becomes a conspirator,

where even the sun

violates its shadow,

where pigeons wander

and stumble on their own crumbs.
